Lift kits are one of the most popular ATV modifications. But more lift is not always better. Here is how to choose correctly.
Lift Options
Spacer lifts at 0.5 to 2 inches are the simplest and cheapest option. They work well for mild tire size increases with no geometry changes. A-arm lifts at 2 to 4 inches replace control arms to add lift while maintaining geometry - required for anything over 2 inches on most machines. Long travel kits at 4 inches and above replace the entire suspension system for extreme off-road use.
Tire Size by Lift
- Stock to 1 inch: up to 26 inch tires
- 2 inch spacer: up to 28 inch tires
- 3-4 inch A-arm: 30-32 inch tires
- 6 inch plus: 33 inch tires, requires CV axle extensions
