A cab enclosure transforms your UTV from a fair-weather machine to a year-round trail companion. Here is how to choose the right doors, roof, and windshield for your rig.
Half Doors vs. Full Doors
Half doors keep brush out at low speeds and provide side protection without fully enclosing the cab. Full doors add weather protection and make the machine feel more vehicle-like. For trail riders in brush country, half doors are the practical choice. For cold-weather or rain riding, go full.
Roof Options
- Plastic roofs - Lightweight, affordable, blocks sun and light rain. Most common choice.
- Aluminum roofs - More durable, often includes integrated light mounts. Better for serious use.
- Soft tops - Fold away when not needed. Great for riders who want options.
Windshield Types
Half windshields deflect wind off your chest at trail speeds. Full windshields (hard or folding) seal out wind, rain, and cold completely. Polycarbonate is safer than glass and won't shatter on impact. Venting panels on full windshields prevent fogging.
